Privacy Policy

Carriv tailors your resume and cover letter to each job posting. To do that, we process some of your data. This page explains what we collect, why, which providers process it, and what rights you have. Our principle is simple: we use your data only to run the service, and nothing else.

Data we collect

  • Account: your name and email address.
  • Content you provide: your profiles (experience, education, skills), the job postings you paste, and the resumes and letters we generate.
  • Billing: your credit and purchase history.
  • Technical data: session information and logs needed for security and for the service to work.

How we use your data

Only to provide the service: to create and secure your account, generate and tailor your applications, compute your ATS compatibility score, manage your credits, and send you emails about your account. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Providers that process your data

To run Carriv we rely on specialized providers (subprocessors). They only process your data on our instructions and solely for the purposes below:

  • AI provider (OpenAI): your profile content and the pasted posting are sent to it only for the time it takes to generate your resume and letter. That content is not durably retained there and is not used to train their models (API processing, separate from consumer use).
  • Hosting (Vercel): running the application and serving pages.
  • Database (MongoDB Atlas): storing your account and your content.
  • Payments (Stripe): processing credit purchases. Your card details are entered with Stripe and never pass through our servers.
  • Email (Resend): sending transactional emails (verification, sign-in, account notifications).

These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. We choose them for their security guarantees and limit what we send them to what is strictly necessary.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your profiles and applications at any time from the app, and delete your account — which removes the associated data, except what we must keep for legal or accounting obligations (for example, billing history).

Your rights

You can view, correct, export or delete your data at any time from the app, or by writing to contact@carriv.com. We respond within a reasonable time.

Security

Secrets (API keys, tokens) stay server-side and are never exposed to the browser. Signup is protected against bots, and access to your data is strictly scoped to your account. No system is infallible, but we design the service to reduce risk by default.
